FAQ

Why do I Need a Website?

With the ever expanding growth of the Internet, more and more small businesses are going online. If you remain unconvinced, here are some compelling reasons why every small business should have a website:

Global Reach

The very nature of the World Wide Web is that there are no boundaries. In many cases, small businesses may have a local customer base, but others (particularly those who’re selling products online) will instantly gain a global audience for their wares.

But I already have printed brochures.

Even if your company does not conduct any business online, with so many potential clients now web-enabled, you should treat your website as an online brochure. Even a simple website can provide clients with an overview of your business, your key services / products, and contact details. How many times have you looked up a company to find directions to their offices, for example?

I thought web sites were only for big businesses.

They can be. A new website can cost $1,500 and up, and may not offer the personal message you want to get across. That’s where we come in. We can set up your BIG FAT Web Site for prices starting at $375*, and we’ll take the time to get to know you, your business, and the message you want to get out to your existing and prospective customers.

I have a web domain, but I don’t know what to do with it.

No problem. We can set your domain up on our host account, or use the host account you have already set up. If you don’t have an existing domain name, we’ll work with you to select a domain name and get it registered. We’re here to make the process easy for you.

Can you use my existing logo?

We will work with your logo design to create a fully integrated site. We can use your current logo’s colors to create the palette for your site, or if your logo is black and white, we can introduce colors to give it a solid online presence.

What if I don’t have a logo?

We will be happy to provide a logo design at your request.

Okay, so you build me a site. What will it cost me to maintain it?

We use WordPress, the world’s largest blogging platform to build our sites. WordPress is extremely user friendly, so most of our clients take over the maintenance of their sites after the site is built. We offer free training as a part of our website packages, and you will most likely find that it will be very easy for you to keep your site up to date.

I don’t have the time to work on my site. Can you maintain it for me?

Absolutely. For a very small additional fee, we offer regular site changes and maintenance.

Test New Products & Services

A website is the perfect place to test new ideas. You might want to test different product descriptions to see which perform best in your online store, or try different pricing structures for the services you provide. WordPress gives you the opportunity to make changes to your site instantly, keep what works well, and change things that don’t.

What if I want a different look for my site every season?

For a nominal fee, we can change the look of your site whenever you like. You might want a change in your color palette during the holidays, or a special notice about your business.

Online 24/7

Your small business website will be available 24/7, 365 days a year. A potential client can find out more about your company, or simply find out a contact email address at any time of day. If you are selling online, customers can be placing orders while you’re asleep!

Sell Online

Probably the best beneficiaries of the web are companies who sell products – particularly those which can be easily shipped. There are massive financial and time benefits to be had from selling online. Using Paypal, you can set up an online shop in no time.

Save Money

Moving your business (or just a part of it) online will save you money. The savings can be as small as the difference between corresponding with clients via email, compared to the cost of a landline call. If you spend time on web marketing, you can also gain new customers via search engines (such as Google and Yahoo!), at minimal cost.

Social Networking

Social Networking is now an integral part of online marketing. We can set up your social network pages, and link them to your site — giving you another valuable tool in your marketing arsenal.

Win-Win

For some small businesses, going online could result in serious efficiency and financial benefits. For many others, it can simply provide potential clients with another way of finding out about your company and how to get in touch.
